Why are kids/teens made to go to school?

Why are kids and teens made to go to school? I don't mean homeschooling/public school, I mean why are they made to get an education? The kids who don't want to be there take away from the kids who want to get an education. They are loud, disruptive, and get bad grades, so the teacher is always spending time disciplining them, and not helping/teaching the kids who want to be there. Even if the kids go all the way through high school, chances are they won't get a job. That is where (I believe) school and jobs/careers go hand in hand. The school prepares us for our career, but the kids who don't want to be in school, will probably not want to be in there career, and just me a menace to our society.
