My cat keeps chewing cords....HELP?

My cat did the same thing. It was bad when she chewed my brothers school laptop charger. Anything in the open will be chewed, even if we are sitting next to them. It is soooooo annoying. We shoo her away every time. After a while of hiding chords, she has stopped. I now am forgetting and she is fine. Yay! Maybe it is just a phase.
