On the iPod *Jailbroken* I installed Nano editor, is there a way to simulate a ^X? *Ctrl + X*?

Recently paid attention to the installer that it uses a Debian GUI Front-End for APT and also found out that apt-get commands work as well. So I decided to install nano, but... it works but I can't escape without a Ctrl + X, is there a way to simulate it? I've tried "^X" as a shortcut but it didn't work very well. I can easily escape by exiting out, and upon going back in Terminal it starts over. I want to be able to BASH Shell Script on the go, mostly for experimental sake. Is there a way to simulate a Ctrl + C or X? If not, are there any other editors? I haven't tried Vi, Emac, Joe, or any others yet.
