Keep dreaming about breakins?

I witnessed a potential mugging/kidnapping a few weeks back and helped break it up. I had a dream that I told the cops about it (which in real life i didn't) and these guys kept trying to break into my house. Before that happened tho, I had a dream about being on the deck while my mom was giving my dad a haircut (?) and we started talking about why people need guns. Then it went into stories about home invasions. So I got on my ipod (in the dream, still) and started reading it on Snopes. And slowly my voice (which is really, really deep) was replaced by this deep, menacing, criminal's voice like you'd hear in a movie. And I look up at our door and there's two guys standing there. A taller guy and then a shorter guy w/clown makeup on. (Never been afraid of clowns). And I was scared that they had let my dogs out the door in the process of breaking in. Then I woke up, got something to drink and went back to sleep. I went back to sleep and I finished the dream off running downstairs to get a gun but by the time I got upstairs it was too late. They were fighting my dad. Then I woke up. If it helps I have a grandpa with cancer that I'm extremely close with and we always used to go hunting/shooting. He was also extremely pro-gun (obviously,) could the gun symbolize him? Also could the dogs symbolize him with me being afraid to lose him? Thanx.
