What is more horrible in your yard than a walnut tree?

Oh, Daisy, don't I know! Second hubby and I had a huge black walnut tree in our front yard; it was one of the oldest trees in town. The fruit only fell every two years, thank goodness, and I used to pay the neighborhood kids 1� apiece to pick them up and they still made money off the deal. The shells stain everything they touch. The leaves are ugly, as well. The only thing that tree was good for was shade; the branches covered our whole house and saved a mint in air conditioning in the summer.
